Julia Roberts has already secured the film rights to this fascinating life story of conversationist and Oscar-nominated wildlife film maker Joan Root. A glamourous blonde with movie-star looks, Root was born to British parents in Kenya and spent most of her life in Africa. Seal's biography is based on Root's own diaries and extensive letters, and follows both her environmental crusades and her passionate - yet ultimately failed - relationship with her husband and fellow adventurer, Alan Root. She was murdered in mysterious circumstances in 2006, a tragic end to an inspiring life.
