Don't Let Her See Me Cry

Set in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, this autobiography by Helen Barnacle tells the story of an incorrigible heroin addict. When her habit leads to her incarceration (the longest drug related imprisonment ever given to a woman in Victoria), while struggling to get clean she discovers she is pregnant and goes on to fight to raise her child in prison. This book is amazing, never have I read such a detailed portrait of drug abuse and what it takes to overcome its grasp.
