Author Robert Milliken has written the interesting life story of Lillian Roxon, the first Australian female overseas correspondent and the first Australian journalist to establish a high profile in America. Having moved to New York in 1959 Lillian established herself as the queen of the New York rock scene. Not only does the book (drawing on her personal papers and extensive interviews with those who knew her) cover her association with the famous of that era including Germaine Greer, David Bowie & Linda Eastman but also how she experienced a cultural revolution that celebrated youth, sexual freedom, women's lib and rock & roll.
The book also contains Roxon's own writing, including extracts from her Rock Encyclopedia.

The Demon Parade are a Melbourne based five piece rock band that are on the up and up. They are hot off the heels of an Australian tour supporting American neo-psychedelic rock band The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

The Strokes, for those of you who don't know, are an American rock band formed in 1998 in New York City. They rose to fame in the early 2000s as leaders in the garage rock revival. They have released three studio albums; the last of these was in 2006. A rumoured fourth album is due out in September.
They are touring in July so don't miss the chance to see them live!
