    Rennies

If you're interested in unusual but interesting places from time to time, then Rennies at Acheron is one such place. A great restaurant offering lunch on Saturday & Sunday & dinner on Friday & Saturday.

The creation of artist Marion Rennie the establishment is housed in her former studio which has been appointed in a fresh, vibrant style featuring an open kitchen complete with wood fired oven. The walls are covered with Marion's original art work which are available for purchase. The menu is very limited; the pizza is really good and the fig wrapped in prosciutto with a gorgonzola cream cheese gets a vote for best starter of the year. There are about 5-6 mains to select from and the wines are all local product. All this set in an idyllic rural setting with interesting sculptures in the garden by the Acheron River a few kilometres from Alexandra (about 1 hour from Melbourne).
