    Soups in the City

    Soups in the City is located in Centre Place, off Flinders Lane. It offers a large selection of soups* in large 'old school' black pots in the shop front. As we're entering colder weather, this is the perfect place to get your insides all warm and tingly and spoil your taste buds at the same time.
    They also make delicious fresh juices and have a selection of naughty little treats.

    *A liquid food of many kinds, usually made by boiling meat and vegetables, or either of them, in water, commonly seasoned or flavored; strong broth.

    Paranoid Park

    Paranoid Park is the latest project from writer and director Gus Van Sant (My Own Private Idaho, Last Days, Elephant & To Die For). It's the story of a teenage skateboarder whose life begins to fray after he's involved in the accidental death of a security guard. This arthouse flick is now showing at Cinema Nova only.

    Madison Entertains is a glossy pictorial cookbook for the budding chef who is more interested in the aesthetics of putting on the dinner party than actually getting messy in the kitchen. Having said that, it does have great seasonal recipes and ideas for entertaining.

    Mark Ronson is the producer du jour. His album Version has him working with musicians such as Amy Winehouse, Phantom Planet, Lily Allen and Robbie Williams, bringing out the best in them. There's also a great cover of Britney Spears' Toxic, which is worth a listen.
